Kyle

Jake stumbles inside. “He isn’t mine is he?”

Lauren paused and said nervously “what do you mean?”

“Please, tell me.” Jake whispers. Lauren pauses as tears slowly fall down, her cheeks smearing her blush. She trembles while walking towards him.

“The night you won the game. I did stop by, but you weren’t home.” She hesitated. “When he answered I could smell the liquor off his breath, then he invited me in.”

Jake begins to shake his head moving backwards towards the door. “What did you say?” His eyebrows slightly raised.

Lauren slipped a piece of her brown curls behind her ears and nodded her eyes looking down. Kyle walks into the kitchen, holding his Iron Man toy.

Jake refuses to look at Kyle and storms out the door.

“Jake, Jacob!” Lauren yells.

Jake jumps into his truck, slams the door in rage and begins to race towards his Dads house. He arrives exhaling strongly, leaving the truck door open. He begins banging on the door. His dad opens the door in shock and confused.

“Jake? Whats going on?” His dad said, startled.

Jake replied, his voice breaking. “Why?”

“Why, what?” His father responds in a deep monotone voice.

“Was it not enough?” Jake trembled. “To take mom from me, you had to take Lauren too?”

His father stares emotionless as Jake barges through the door, shoving him into the wall and striking him. He whispers to Jake, which caused him to unclench his fist and allowed him to catch his breath.
